Introducing... Walter Kasprzyk

Walter began his musical studies on the accordion at the age of 8, after trying to play the trumpet . . . to no avail! He competed in local, state and national competitions, and realized early-on that he'd rather "play in a band". He's had a long history of performance with local Connecticut bands . . . Including the Velvetones, The Golden Hawks, The MagnaTones, Vesuvio, and others!

In his teenage years, Walter joined both Julie and Mary to establish a group called The Three K's . . . the first hint of The "K" Trio! In that group, Walter performed on the Sanovox accordion . . . a predecessor of today's synthesized keyboard instruments -- Julie played on her accordion, and Mary played the vibraphone! The Three K's appeared at numerous events in the Connecticut area, and also appeared as a guest artist at a Festival in Washington, D.C. in 1965!

During his teenage years, Walter performed under the baton of Maestro Joseph Biviano in the world-reknowned Accordion Symphony Society of New York. Their repertoire included works of a variety of genres, and their performances regularly included major classical works such as Beethoven's Fifth Symphony, Ravel's Bolero, and Saint-Saens' Samson and Delilah. Guest accordion artists often appeared with the Symphony, performing major works for accordion and orchestra.

He was a member of the National Honor Society. After graduating from high school in 1967, he attended the University of Bridgeport in Connecticut.

Upon his move to California, he attended the College of San Mateo, majoring in engineering. He later attended the Bridgeport Engineering Institute and Norwalk State Technical College. He spent many years in the engineering, production control and inventory control departments of a relatively large firm in Fairfield, Ct before relocating to the Emerald Coast of Northwestern Florida,which is also referred to as the panhandle.

Walter (pictured here receiving an autrograph from Maestro Anthony Galla-Rini) is also an avid bowler, sporting a 200+ average, with two 300 games under his belt, as well as 299 and 298 accomplishments . . . AND . . . he participated in the National Bowling Championships in Reno, Nevada. Throughout the years he has accumulated numerous league and tournament awards for his outstanding bowling abilities.

He has a puzzling personality (go figure as he puts it)... loves trivia, sports, reading all kinds of books and karaoke on occasion. He has a daughter (mother of his two granddaughters), Daina, and a son, Jason, who both live in Ct. He now resides in Navarre, Florida with his wife, Karen..
