• Iona Reed - Accordion
  • Ron Kelly - Guitar
  • Bill Tuttle - Drums/Percussion
The Iona Reed Trio performs a blend of dance music that reaches out to music lovers of all ages. The Iona Reed Trio is one of the very few dance bands on the music scene today that performs Continental, Latin American and Broadway Standards.

Iona has spent her life surrounded by music as an entertainer, teacher and world-renowned accordionist. For many years she performed with her late-husband Karl Pukara in the Karl Pukara Trio. In 1998, Iona assumed the role of leader for the trio, to the continued delight of Sudbury and area dance enthusiasts.

Iona Reed began playing piano at age five, and moved on to the accordion at age 17. In 1962 she became the CIA Coupe Mondiale World Accordion Champion in Prague, Czech Republic. Karl and Iona performed and adjudicated throughout Ontario and Quebec, in the United States and in Europe. As a team they recorded "A String of Accordion Pearls" and "Accordion Duo on Tour".

Among her accomplishments Iona Reed performed at the pre-Oscar party in Los Angeles in 1997, and has performed with Pandora Topp's tribute to French chanteuse Edith Piaf at the National Arts Center in Ottawa and at the Francophone World Summit in Moncton, NB.

Ron Kelly (guitar) is a retired High School teacher, and has been playing guitar for more than 47 years. He has performed with Canadian Jazz greats including Bernie Senesky, Oliver Jones, Peter Appleyard, Kevin Turcotte and Mike Morely. He has performed with Iona Reed since 1984.

Over the years Ron has performed with most of the dance bands in Sudbury including the Club Alouette House Band, Con DiSalle, Sonny Musico, as well as the Don and Jack Smith Orchestras, and Sudbury Jazz greats pianist Tony Simpkin and bassist Brian Quebec. Playing music has been a major part of his adult life and Ron is regarded by his fellow musicians as one of the finest Jazz guitarists in Northern Ontario.

Bill Tuttle is a recognized artist as well as a musician. He has 48 years experience performing as a drummer and Latin percussionist with local dance bands.

He has performed with most established jazz and dance band musicians in Sudbury and for several years at the famous Club Allouette. Bill Tuttle co-led his highly successful country-rock group 'Good Times Company' from 1978 to 1981.

He joined the Iona Reed Trio in 1998 and the three experienced musicians fit beautifully together to provide the unique sound and style that many have called one of the very best in Canada.
