El concurso, con clases internacionales disponibles ha atraído el interés de países como Alemania, Bosnia, Croacia, China, Nueva Zelanda y Australia. La fecha límite de inscripción es el 15 de Abril.
El festival presentará la actuación del Ganador de la Coupe Mondiale categoría Acordeón piano, Vladimir Anikin, de Rusia, quien actuará en el concierto de gala además de ofrecer clases magistrales.
Tradicionalmente el acto más popular del festival es el Concierto de Gala. Los artistas incluidos este año son algunos de los mejores solistas de acordeón australianos y figuras internacionales, grupos y orquestas como John MacDonald, Grayson Masefield (Nueva Zelanda), Vladimir Anikin (Rusia), Australian Concert Ensemble, ASA orquesta, Sydney Balalaika Orquesta, Ann-Elise Koerntjes, Marjan Krajna (Croacia) y ganadores de las diferentes categorías del concurso.
LA AATA ha organizado clases magistrales que ofrecerán profesores como Vladimir Anikin (Rusia), Marjan Karjna (Croacia) , Alma Flammersberger (Alemania/Bosnia) y Tania Lukic-Marx (Australia).
El Festival y los Campeonatos prometen ofrecer interesantes eventos, combinando la buena música con los buenos momentos entre acordeonistas.
11 Concurso Internacional de acordeón de Beijing –China
El 11 Concurso Internacional de acordeón de Beijing y las clases magistrales tendrán lugar del 20 al 25 de Agosto de 2007. Este año hay varias novedades en la organización:
-Eventos y conciertos de alto nivel.
-Una sección de concierto para la categoría senior junto con el compositor del concierto Viatcheslav Semionov ensayando con la orquesta.
-Excelentes premios en metálico para los participantes de nivel internaiconal.
-Clases magistrales ofrecidas por Jacques Mornet (Francia) y Viatcheslav Semionov (Rusia) del 14 al 18 de agosto.
-Un jurado internacional de alto nivel que evaluarán los resultados.
El acordeonista Austriaco Klaus Paier acaba de presentar su nuevo libro “Jazz Accordion” y un CD a solo titulado “Vibraciones”. El CD tiene 12 temas y todos son obras o arreglos de Klaus Paier.
Klaus Paier estudió acordeón, jazz y composición en el conservatorio de Klagenfurt, y desde los años 90 ha experimentado en el desarrollo de su propio estilo de jazz. En los próximos meses actuará en Alemania, Austria, Serbia, Dinamarca, Suecia, España, Israel, Portugal, Polonia y Rumanía.
El nuevo CD del acordeonista Gianluca Campi “Niccolo Paganini- Transcripciones” presenta transcripciones para acordeón de música escrita originalmente para violín por Paganini. El CD incluye los caprichos nº 5, 13, 15, 19, 20, 21, 22 op.1 y los conciertos nº 1,2,3,4,5 y “Opera Postuma”.
Volvió el curso de Frédéric Deschamps donde los estudiantes trabajaron de dos a cuatro semanas comenzando el 1 de abril y finalizando el 31 de abril.
Los estudiantes vinieron de Francia, Nueva Zelanda, China, EEUU, Suecia...para pasar unos buenos momentos además de aprender en Chevannes, Loiret, a 111 Kms de París.
El curso es para acordeonistas de todos los países, edades, estilos o niveles y de cualquier tipo de acordeón. Frédéric Deschamps conoce todos ellos. El talento y la motivación de los jóvenes hace que durante el curso practicaran horas y horas sin que nadie les obligara a ello.
Simplemente quieren tocar como el mayor! Y el mayor sólo tenía 15 años , imagínense la edad de los “pequeños”. Los pocos adultos privilegiados que acudieron al curso atendieron las explicaciones de Deschamps sobre la técnica, algunas de las que describe en su libro de técnica recientemente publicado.

Gina Brannelli organised the Blackpool and Wyre International Accordion Festival 2007 which was held at the Marine Hall Fleetwood on 8th April – the last festival after 23 years of the original Easter Accordion Festivals! Some 150 competitors competed – many preparing for the NAO UK Championships in May. Picture right - Zander Bodell.
Some gave outstanding performances in the views of the adjudicators Raymond Bodell, Frederick Parnell and Ken Farran. Amongst those who gave significant performances in a number of classes are Julie Langton; who was awarded the BCA Recital Diploma, and Alexander Bodell and Santana O'Connor.
The well attended festival is now to be held in conjunction with NAO North West Area Festival which is held in November.

The French national accordion magazine ‘Accordéon et Accordéonistes’ is currently featuring the music performed by the some players who will represent France in the Variety sections at the Coupe Mondiale in Washington DC in the USA, from August 13th to 18th. These are students of Frédéric Deschamps.
First of all, La Vicieuse, a Valse by Eric Bouvelle and Didier Roussin, interpreted and arranged by Jérémy Dehier, for the Junior Variety category.
Then "Rag Musette" by Maurice Larcange and André Loppe, a rag of very technical and dynamic style by a very talented Kevin Legrand (15 years), that is also for the category Variété Junior.
With regard to the Senior Variété category, you will be able to discover the famous theme "Russian Captain" interpreted and arranged by Stéphane Belleville, as well as a mazurka, "The Magic Accordion" interpreted and arranged by Cyril Blanchard.

Concert of Macedonian Composers, Belgrade - Serbia

After a successful presentation at this year’s ‘Days of Macedonian Music’, the tandem composers Elizabeta Ilievska and Professor Zorica Karakutovska, and accordion students from the Faculty of Music in Skopje, Macedonia, had a new success abroad. On the invitation of the Student Cultural Center, Belgrade, and in co-operation with the Youth Cultural Center, Skopje, young Macedonian composers, students of the composition classes at the Faculty of Music – Skopje, held a wonderful concert on April 3rd in the ballroom of the Student Cultural Center in Belgrade. At this concert, Macedonian composer Elizabeta Ilievska presented her composition ‘Passacaglia’, written for an accordion trio, which had received its premiere performance at the ‘Days of Macedonian Music 2005’.
‘The sensous night of the accordion’, Vienna – Austria
A series on concerts titled ‘The sensous night of the accordion’ takes place in different venues in Vienna on Friday April 13th, as follows:

Accordionist Karen Street participates in ‘Glad Day’, a concert that celebrates the 250th anniversary of the English poet William Blake’s birth. Performing choral version settings of the poetry of Blake texts are Phil Minton and Kate Westbrook – voice, Mike Westbrook – piano, Karen Street – accordion, Billy Thompson – violin, and the London College of Music Chamber Choir, directed by Paul Ayres.
The concert takes place on Friday May 18th, 8pm, at The Picture Gallery, The Foundling Museum, 40 Brunswick Square, London W1N 1AZ.
On April 13th, at 8pm, the international folk dance band Orkestar Bez Ime, featuring accordionist Dee Langley, perform at Cedar Cultural Center, 416 Cedar Ave, Minneapolis, with Daddy Squeeze's Gypsy Café, as they celebrate the Rogarian mystical tradition of Leap Day and other nonsense.
OBI features songs from Macedonia, Slovakia, Albania, Romania, Israel, Bulgaria, Finland, Greece, Bulgaria, Serbia, Romany (Gypsy) and of course, Rogaria. Accordionist Dan Newton performs with Daddy Squeeze's Gypsy Café.
The folk band Tocar de Ouvido, featuring accordionists Manuel Gomes Vale and Artur Fernandes, perform at Espaço Celeiros, Évora from April 28th to May 1st.
