Il 19° festival annuale della fisarmonica di Tulle si svolgerà dal 13 al 19 settembre 2007 conosciuto anche come “Nuits de Nacre”. La più parte dei circa 70 concerti e balli si svolgeranno la sera su vari palchi all’aria aperta, nei teatri ed anche nei ristoranti, brasserie e bar nel centro della città. I stili musicali variano dal musette, folk, jazz, rock, varieté e classica.
Fra i gruppi ufficiali ci sono spesso anche gruppi “non ufficiali” i quali si presentano all’ultimo istante. Una visita, come opzione, nella fabbrica di fisarmoniche “Maugein” sarà possibile a pagamento.
Il fisarmonicista Alexander Shirunov ha appena concluso un suo tour nella Scandinavia, dove ha partecipato in due importanti festival: il Sata-Häme Soi Festival in Ikaalinen, Finlandia ed il Ransater FisarmonicaFestival in Svezzia. I due festival si svolgono già da più di 20 anni con un programma che comprende molti spettacoli di diversi generi.
Come secondo classificato nel 1° Primus Ikaalinen del 2005 Alexander è stato invitato questo anno per la 35° edizione.
Il Ransater Fisarmonica Festival è rinomato per uno dei più grandi eventi di fisarmonica nel mondo dove partecipano artisti provenienti dai paesi come: Norvegia, Svezia e Danimarca. Alexander si è esibito 2 volte sul palco principale. Il concerto sull’ anfiteatro all’aperto ha visto più di 2000 spettatori. Nel programma di Alexander: brani di S. Hylen, C.Jularbo, P. Frosini - P. Festeggiamenti per l’ ‘Accordion Connection’, New Hampshire – USA
Il 21 di luglio si svolgeranno una serie di concerti dal titolo ‘Ladies Day’ focalizzato sulle donne nella ‘Accordion Connection’, 136 NH Route 106, Unit 1, Gilmanton, New Hampshire. Il programma include: Scottish, French, Classical e musica popolare. Concerti inizo alle ore 10 con Sylvia Miskoe, a mezzogiorno Mary Tokarski, ore 13 Anita & Bob Siarkowski ed alle ore 14 Donna Maria Regis.
I visitatori hanno la possibilità di portare i loro strumenti per una quotazione del valore e/o riparazione eseguita da tecnici professionisti. Per non perdere nessuno degli eventi in programma sarà organizzato un Bruch-Buffet.
I concerti ‘Ladies Day’ del 21 luglio sono in onore del 50° anniversario dell‘Accordion Connection’, fondato nel 1957 dal proprietario Arthur Welch.
Il fisarmonicista portoghese João Gentil darà sulle isole Azzorre più di 30 concerti in programma per i mesi di luglio ed agosto. In DUO João Gentil e Luís Formiga alle percussioni presentano musiche di Astor Piazzolla, Richard Galliano, Gotan Project, Yann Tiersen, Renzo Ruggieri ed altri. Tutti gli arrangiamenti sono di João Gentil e Luis Formiga, con influenze d’electro-tango e jazz. La creatività e la polivalenza di questo DUETTO si sviluppa in modo esponenziale.

Finnish accordionist Mika Väyrynen recently performed a concert with his quintet ‘La Camorra’, comprising Mika on bandoneon, Henrik Perello - violin, Ismo Eskelinen - guitar, Kirmo Lintinen – piano, and Tarja Nyberg - double bass. Performing the music of Piazzolla, the concert took place at the ‘Sonkajärvi Soi’ Festival under the artistic directorship of the famous guitarist Ismo Eskelinen.
Sultans Flooded Out - Parky Sails on Solo!, England - UK
Accordionist John Kirkpatrick became a victim of recent severe floods. He wrote: “On the way to Nettlebed Folk Club on June 25th for a gig with The Sultans of Squeeze, my car was overwhelmed by flood water near Tenbury Wells, Worcestershire.
I was one of many, and had to be towed back to a garage, a journey we only just managed even with the extra height of a huge breakdown vehicle. By then it was too late to get to Nettlebed and poor Chris Parkinson, who had had the good sense to go down to the vicinity the day before, ended up having to do the evening solo.
Congratulations to Parky on managing to complete his first solo gig for over ten years! and apologies to my fans.
My car's been written off, I had to hire a car the next day, that got a puncture - two hours delay. Cars, eh?”

Il ‘Made in Italy’ della ditta Fisitalia, conosciuta per la produzione di fisarmoniche di alta qualità con un’ ottimo servizio si è presentata ad Seul-Coex (Sud Korea) come unico esponente sul campo fisarmoniche durante la expo che si è tenuta dal 14 al 16 Giugno 2007. Nello show erano presenti 94 aziende da 9 diversi paesi e con circa 28,000 visitatori. Molto apprezzamento da parte del pubblico per le fisarmoniche made in Italy.
A Bastille Day concert takes place on Saturday July 14th, at 8 pm. The free event takes place at the Universalist National Memorial Church, 1810 16th Street, NW (at S Street), Washington, DC 2009. On the program are French pieces by composers as varied as Ravel and Brel, performed by vocalists, a violinist, and accordionists Rick and Mara.
The Zero Sette Accordion Orchestra, from the Basque region of northern Spain, are in concert on July 14th, 9pm, at ‘La Torre’, Casa de Cultura, Guadarrama, Madrid, organised by the Chorale of Guadarrama. Entrance: 4 euros.
The Maine Celtic Celebration takes place from July 19th to 22nd in Belfast, Maine. This festival of Irish music, song and dance includes informal concerts, dances, displays of Irish dancing and informal music sessions. Performers include bohola – featuring accordionist Jimmy Keane, Ladies of the Lake – featuring button accordionist Maggie Ericson, the Napper Tandies – featuraccordionist Randy Billings, and the Stillson School of Irish Dancing.
Jimmy Keane - 5 times All Ireland Senior Piano Accordion Champion and member of the Irish American band bohola, will be holding a piano accordion workshop. The workshop will take place on Friday July 20th at 10.30am at the Fred Hutchinson Center in Belfast, Maine. The workshop is free, but the organisers are asking for a donation of $10to the Celtic Celebration Fund.
Jean-Marc Marroni is leading an accordion course from July 22nd to 28th at Serre Eyraud, close to Gap in Provence. Members of several accordion schools meet together to work on the interpretation of Baroque, classical and contemporary works, as well as more modern popular music.
The lively and colourful Romanian dance ensemble Doina, with their orchestra, from Bucharest, perform at the Peter Barkworth Theatre, Stockport College on Saturday July 28th, 7pm. Also appearing are the Fosbrooks, local performers of traditional dance, music and song. Both performers’ accompanists include various accordionists.
