Mangosi, il cui brillante lavoro con tanto umorismo e satire appare
spesso nei giornali e le riviste Italiane. I fumetti spiritosi e satirici
di Roberto spesso gli hanno permesso di aggiudicarsi numerose ricompense
e prestigiosi premi, ed il piccolo mondo della fisarmonica ormai sarà
sottoposto alla sua eccezionale capacità d'osservazione .

e presentazione del nuovo Abandon

L'evento
di fisarmonica più importante dell'anno si è svolto
a Melbourne dove la fisarmonicista Bernadette
Conlon, portatrice di un handicap visivo, ha dato il suo concerto
annuale durante il Melbourne Cup Eve, come artista speciale invitata
dal Bentleigh Organ Club. Questo
concerto molto atteso è iniziato con una prestazione dell'orchestra
di fisarmonica di Melbourne diretta da Bernadette e che lei stessa
ha formato dopo 25 anni di assenza di un'orchestra di fisarmonica
di Melbourne. Il concerto, di due ore e mezzo, ha riscosso un grande
successo seguito da numerose richieste da parte del pubblico.
Questo concerto ha anche coinciso con l'uscita di ` Abandon',
l'ultimo CD di Bernadette.
Quest'ultimo riflette le percezioni artistiche ed estetiche dell'abbandono.
L'interpretazione eccezionale di Bernadette di alcune delle più
belle canzoni, non necessariamente composte per la fisarmonica, ma
che permettono alla fisarmonica di uscire dal tradizionale, ha trasportato
il pubblico in una nuova esplorazione musicale appassionante.
Questo "è il mio album più
onesto ed introspettivo, ma tuttavia intenso ed appassionato"
spiega Bernadette. "Era un piacere di registrare alcune delle
mie canzoni favorite, come ` Killing me Softly', ` I've Grown Accustomed
To Your Face', fino agli standard ` Somewhere', ` My Funny Valentine',
` By The Time I Get To Phoenix', ed anche una versione tango di `
If You Go Away'." Penso che restituisca perfettamente le qualità
non usuali della fisarmonica, nella sua ricchezza tonale estesa con
una capacità di rendere la musica dai toni odierni come ` Total
Éclipse of the Heart '.' Ciò è stato per me un
viaggio pieno di scoperte e spero che il pubblico apprezzerà
in eguale misura come ho provato io nel registrarlo.

e Fisarmonica che si terrà dall'11 al 18 dicembre all'Académie
di Musique Gnessin di Mosca è stata confermata come segue:

Un
nuovo articolo commemorativo sulla vita di Elsie
Bennett
ed il suo importante contributo per composizioni originali per la
fisarmonica è ora on-line. Elsie Bennett ha contribuito alla
composizione del comitato del AAA
nel 1953 ed ha presieduto quest'ultimo fino al 2004 mettendo in ordine
più di una cinquantina di brani originali.
Elsie Bennett è stato membro del comitato AAA
dal 1953 dopo essere stata una delle prime musiciste negli USA a ricevere
un diploma di studi universitari per fisarmonica. Come Direttrice
di una scuola di musica, ha dedicato la sua personalità e la
sua energia per tutta la sua vita al suo strumento preferito, la fisarmonica.
Elsie ci mancherà molto.
Jean Michel Legros (KIWI
productions) ed il fisarmonicista francese Jean-Louis
Noton (www.accordeon.com/noton) partiranno il 16 dicembre prossimo
a Cape Skirring in Casamance, per completare un video musicale sul
tema della pace. Dopo 20 anni di guerra, un accordo di pace è
stato firmato il 29 dicembre 2004 tra le autorità senegalesi
e gli insorti.
Presente in occasione di questo evento storico, Jean Louis Noton che
ha già passato le sue vacanze in questa bella regione durante
questi ultimi 15 anni, dove ha fatto molto per destare l'interesse
della fisarmonica nelle scuole. Fascinante per i giovani Senegalesi,
la fisarmonica e gli strumenti africani così come il balafon
e choras che si mescolano bene insieme. Jean-Louis
Noton ha composto e registrato musiche anche con temi e strumenti
senegalesi.
Festival
internazionale di musica con fisarmonica/ Wroclaw – Polonia Contribuito

In
Polonia l'anno 2006 comincerà con un grande festival internazionale
di fisarmonica organizzata dal 6 all'8 gennaio a Wroclaw. Questo festival
musicale eclettico si estenderà dal barocco al jazz.
Aperte ai dilettanti ed ai musicisti professionisti senza limiti d'età,
le due categorie prevedono: gruppo solisti e gruppo ensemble di musica
da camera ed orchestre di fisarmonica. Olexiy Suslov sarà il
direttore di questo festival dove l'ospite speciale sarà Yurij
Shyshkin (Russia), vincitore di molti concorsi internazionali di fisarmonica:
Klingenthall
(Germania 1988), Kansas City (USA - 1990), e Castelfidardo
(Italia - 1991).

CD di Martin Lubenov ‘Veselina ' e premio « Musique du
Monde » Vienna – Austria Contribué

All'età
di 29 anni, Martin Lubenov, è già affermato come uno
dei principali virtuosi contemporanei, arrangiatore e compositore
per fisarmonica balcanica. Questo virtuoso bulgaro combina la musica
balcanica con ritmi di swing, jazz moderno, nuevo tango, salsa e musette,
come l’ha fatto Astor Piazzolla per il tango e Richard Galliano
per il musette.
Dopo il
successo del primo album di Martin ` Dui Droma 'da parte di Martin
Lubenov Orkestar, il secondo album ` Vaselina ' è stato registrato
da Martin e dal ` Jezzista Prasta Band', essendo quest'ultimo la versione
jazz miniaturizzata di Martin Lubenov Orkestar. Dotati di una vitalità
terribile, i membri di questo quartetto balcanico poco ortodosso riflettono
una fusione non convenzionale delle musiche bulgare e jazz. Il
3 dicembre scorso, Martin Lubenov Jazzta Prasta ha ricevuto il premio
austriaco della musica del mondo al Club Porgy&Bess a Vienna.

per quest’anno vendite su Internet in aumento del 22%, ed il
vicinissimo periodo delle feste natalizie potrebbe raggiungere un
nuovo record delle vendite on-line.
Il canale di vendita E-commercio rappresenta attualmente circa il
7% di tutte le vendite al dettaglio e questa cifra è in previsione
di raggiungere il 12% nel 2010, cosa che rappresenta praticamente
il doppio delle vendite on-line durante questi cinque prossimi anni.
L'industria della fisarmonica apprezzerà certamente questo
aumento crescente visto il numero fenomenale di fisarmonicisti della
Cina che disporranno in futuro di una carta di credito.

North West Area Festival, Fleetwood - UK Contributed

The
National Accordion Organisation North West Area Festival was held
at the Marine Hall in Fleetwood, Lancashire on November 27th. A perfect
location for this event, with 229 entries, it was a very busy day
for adjudicators NAO
Chairman Raymond
Bodell, together with his clerk William Langton, and Fred Parnell,
together with his clerk Mrs Mavis Parnell. The day began at 7am for
the Organising Committee, and the Festival was off to a prompt 9am
start. It was a fantastic day, with many remarkable performances from
soloists, groups and orchestras.
The presentations commenced with a summary of the competition from
the adjudicators. Raymond
Bodell and Fred Parnell were delighted with the event, and remarked
on the high level of performance offered by all the competitors. They
were asked to choose the awards for the outstanding performances of
the day. Santana O'Connor, Hannah Heaney, Julie Langton, Daizilee
Pattison and Alexander Bodell were the recipients.
The Accordion Times International Challenge Award was presented
to Harry Hinchcliffe for his support and valuable assistance at the
North West Area Festival. His orchestras and groups set a very high
standard and senior competitors included Janet Etherington, who won
the Advanced Section. Ann Parker and John Smith were also successful
senior contestants.
The New Petulengros won the Entertainment section with an exciting
selection of music. Hannah Heaney, brother Kieran Heaney, sisters
Philomena and Jody made up "The 4 Aces", and did really
well for the first time in competition, plus individually achieving
excellent placings.
Thanks must go to the committee of the North West Area: William Langton,
John Fairclough, Stage Managers Jean Southern and Betty Pollard, Room
Managers Tom Sharples, Christy O'Connor and Mark Langton, and photographer
David Batty. The Charnwood
Publications stand was a popular spot in the trade area, thanks
to representative Anna Bodell. Rob
Howard was present with his new book 'An
A to Z of the Accordion, Volume 2', signing copies. The Committee
thanked all the teachers and accordion clubs who supported the North
West Festival 2005, and also the Wyre Borough Council for providing
the superb venue.

The well travelled French accordionist Jean-Louis
Noton was recently in China at the International Musicfair in
Shanghai, demonstrating the Odyssey OPTIMA, made by the French accordion
producer Cavagnolo at the at
the stand of the Chinese producer Golden Lion. As always during his
performances of French and international tunes, Jean-Louis drew a
large crowd of enthusiastic fans.

Accordionist
Ivano Battiston has just concluded a series of concerts with the Symphonic
orchestra of San Remo, directed by the Japanese conductor Tsutsumi
Shunshaku. This prestigious orchestra, appearing for the first time
in Italy, performed the 'Concerto Sol minore opus 46', by Bernhard
Molique. This concerto was written originally for English concertina
and adapted for the accordion by Ivano Battiston.
German-born composer Bernhard Molique (1802-1869) studied in Nuremberg,
worked in Vienna, and then moved to London where he met the Swiss-born
guitarist and concertina player Giulio Regondi at the Royal Academy
of Music. In 1853, Molique wrote 'Concerto Sol minore opus 46' for
Giulio Regondi, and the piece was critically acclaimed. Ivano Battiston
has now revived the concerto for modern audiences.

The
Washington Metropolitan Accordion Society (WMAS) held its 2005 Christmas
Holiday concert on December 4th. Joan Grauman (right picture), an
accordionist from Potomac Maryland, conducted the WMAS orchestra and
the Potomac Ensemble. Dale E. Wise of Virginia, accordionist and teacher,
acted as Master-of-Ceremonies.
The program included Christmas songs, Channukah songs, international
songs from France, Germany, Israel, Russia, plus some folk music.
Soloists included Elise Malouf, Czarina Attipoe, Silvia Eberly, Daniel
McCharen, Phil Fox, Ronald Charvet, Dan Grauman, Rick Nunno, Adam
Carter-Nafziger, Mara Cherkasky, Peter Di Giovanni, Leone Monticone,
Clare Cherkasky, Michael B. Rubin, Jim Vandelly, Vladimir Titarenko,
Merv Conn, Joan Grauman, and Dale Wise.
The WMAS orchestra and the Potomac Ensemble also performed several
American and international Christmas songs. The Potomac Ensemble will
also be the guest artistes at the Dale E. Wise Christmas Holiday Concert
on December 14th.
On
December 9th, at 9.30pm, accordionist Dade Bonetti performs a solo
concert of popular favourites at the Narmada Equo Café, close
to the railway station in Manerbia.

The Saw Doctors' new CD 'The Cure' has been released in the UK and
Ireland, and will be released in the USA to coincide with the band's
American tour in March 2006.
A
course for improving accordion playing technique, led by Claudio
Jacomucci, will be held at the Istituto Pareggiato in Rimini.
The eight sessions run from November 2005 until June 2006, and the
remaining dates are: January 14th, February 18th, 18 March 18th, April
15th, May 13th and June 3rd.
The program includes working on transcriptions of classical music
(from JS Bach to Stravinsky) and the contemporary repertoire (from
Berio to Zorn). Many points of technique, including bellows shake,
will be covered.
