Il 9 Luglio si sono aperte le porte della nuova scuola di Musica
ed Arte a Muehlacker inaugurata con un concerto d'apertura con la
fisorchestra composta soltanto degli alunni della scuola i quali
hanno partecipato in numerosi festival nazionali ed internazionali
come per esempio il Prager Harmonikatagen 2005.
La scuola è diretta dalla Sigra Margarete Glock (Diplomata
in Musica Pedagogia e dirigente). La materia principale della scuola
è la fisarmonica con l'insegnante Mrs. Glock. Die Adresse

musicista/fisarmonicsta Jon Hammond è presente nella colonna
della rivista FOCUS, scritta dal giornalista e famoso musicista
Bob Popyk per la Federazione dei Musicisti Americani.
L'articolo su FOCUS è pubblicato nella rivista "International
Musician" ed ha portato a Jon numerosi contatti con altri musicisti
di tutta l'America Jon,
indaffarato come sempre, appena ritornato dalla California,dove
si è esibito in 5 concerti durante una settimana, sta per
prepararsi per la sua quarta partecipazione alla "Music China
Shanghai".

Gallowglass

1993, un video dal titolo 'Together For One Last Reunion' è
stato pubblicato per celebrare una lunga carriera ricca di successi
della Gallowglass Ceili Band sotto la guida di Pat McGarr (fisarmonica
a piano e Brendan Breen alla fisarmonica continentale cromatica).
Ora è disponibile un nuovo video shows con 150 ballerini
in costume tradizionale dell'Irlanda.
La Gallowglass Ceili Band è stata formata negli anni 50 e
sono stati campione della All-Ireland Champions in 1953, 1954 e
1955. Sono diventati il gruppo commercialmente più rappresentativo
dell'Irlanda per la loro distribuzione internazionale per alcuni
decenni.

d'orgoglio per il Dr. William Schimmel a New York - USA

momento d'orgoglio ci sarà per il Dr. William Schimmel e
Micki Goodman-Schimmel il 28 Luglio quando il loro figlio Michael
celebrerà il suo 25° compleanno con un solo art show.
E certamente il Dr. Schimmel provvederà per la musica durante
la cerimonia d'apertura.
Michael
Schimmel nato il 9 agosto 1980 ha cominciato all'età di 5
anni a frequentare il Kennedy Child Study Centro, per poi passare
al PS 7, 146, 40, IS 131, Manhattan School for Career Development,
per poi laurearsi alla Stuyvesant High School in Special Education
Program. Al momento collabora con Jeff Macaluso nel programma "Young
Adult Institute Home Habilitation".
Michael
ha studiato la fisarmonica con suo padre Dr. William Schimmel e
delle performance con sua madre Micki Goodman, coreografo ed artista
del video. Michael ha partecipato in numerosi programmi artistici
nella 92nd Street Y, The Metropolitan Museum of Art Discovery e
lavora al presente nel Hudson Centro per Arte e Habitation che è
sponsorizzato dalla Federazione per l'Educazione.
Le scelte
musicali di Michael hanno incredibilmente contribuito alla sua carriera
artistica, la sua pittura, sculture, lavori in legno, media e ceramica.
I lavori in questa esposizione fanno parte di un programma di incoraggiamento
e di stimolo per l'espressione degli artisti. Michael, portatore
dell'handicap sindrome "down" vive con i suoi genitori
a Manhatan dove presenta il suo primo lavoro da solista. Dove: La

Finger Lakes Grass Roots Festival of Music and Dance, New York -
USA

 The
Finger Lakes Grass Roots Festival of Music and Dance takes place
in Trumansburg, New York State, from July 21st to 24th. This festival
features ethnic music and dance, including Cajun, Zydeco, folk,
bluegrass, reggae and African, and no less than sixty bands are
booked.
The Cajun and Zydeco performers include Keith Frank and the Soileau
Zydeco Band, Walter Mouton and the Scott Playboys, Preston Frank
and his Zydeco Family Band, Steve Riley and the Mamou Playboys,
Cleoma's Ghost, and Buffalo Zydeco.

The annual Edinburgh
Festival Fringe takes place during late July and August, involving
a wide range of musical and theatrical shows and events. A number
of these include accordions, details given below:-
July 29th
- The Hub, 10pm - Moishe's Bagel, featuring Pete Garnet on accordion,
play Klezmer and Balkan dance music
August
4th - Queen's Hall, 8pm - Salsa Celtica Café Orchestra, featuring
diatonic button accordionist Luke Daniels.
August
7th - Henry's Jazz Cellar, 6pm - Degrees Of Freedom: 8, a newly formed
jazz octet that includes Simon Thoumire on English concertina.
August
9th - Acoustic Music Centre, St Bride's, 10.30pm - Ceilidh with the
Sensational Jimi Shandrix Experience, led by accordionist Sandy Brechin.

show titled 'Whimsaccordion'.

Scottish dance band with many overseas influences.

Chic Murray - a musical tribute to the late Scottish comedian Chic
Murray, involves accordionist Una Bryson. All shows take place in

Lark Camp,
California - USA

 The
25th annual Lark Camp takes place from July 29th to August 6th, at
the Mendocino Woodlands State Park in northern California, close to
the coastal town of Mendocino. This event features a huge range of
music, song and dance activities, many of which involve accordions,
melodeons and concertinas.
The tutors include Jon Berger - melodeon, Evo Bluestein - Cajun and
Zydeco button accordion, Ryan Francesco - piano accordion, Jack Gilder
- Anglo concertina, Miguel Gorea - Tex Mex button accordion, Alan
Keith - button accordion, Dan Newton - piano accordion, Simo Tesla
- piano accordion, and Vickie Yancy - button accordion.
