| Some 25 accordionists (aged between 8 and 14 years old) were among 682 other performers, from the Siming Youth Palace, who all performed at the two New Year Gala concerts held at the prestigious Xiamen Minnan Theatre, 18th and 19th December 2016. They performed the well-known Chinese Opera piece "Hunting Tigers up on the Mountain", arranged for the accordion. These children have rehearsed each weekend since July 2016 and are led by three highly regarded accordion teachers: Ouyang Fang (who studied in Germany for many years), Xie Ling and Hong Mei. |
