cruising in ice
Most people think of a ships cruise in the sun but this is not the way if you live in Finland. What is probably the worlds most popular accordion cruise with 2,500 guests and performers is held where there is lots of ice and snow and its so beautiful.

This year saw the heaviest ice ever in the 19 years of this popular winter cruise with many smaller ships being trapped in the ice and unable to move. Even ice-breakers were having troubles with the very thick ice.

ice on cruise
The thick ice (up to 14 metres thick) did not stop the fun on board with 2,500 guests enjoying nonstop activities including accordion music of many styles such as Finnish Folk Music and dancing, Cajun, Tex Mex, Jazz, accordion orchestras and ensembles, trade show displays of instruments, recordings and music and an accordion competition.

Its an amazing atmosphere with bars, restaurants and corridors filled with accordion music.
