On the
chromatic accordion, Hungarian accordionists excelled. As
in Romania, bands played traditional dances. Bebe Serban was
one of the most well known accordionists. Jazz accordionists
were more prominent in Hungary than any other Eastern country.
Two
professional accordionists from Hungary are Lajos Bobula and
his student Jean Sinko. Joseph H Hamori was the first Hungarian
to play musette accordion, which he brought back to his native
land after visiting Paris in the late 1930's.
