This is the first recording of this kind that I have come across so far: accordion of vintage Paris! This collection of accordion instrumental and songs comes from the beginning of the century: 1927 to 1942 and has been remastered superbly.

Performed by various artists of that time, France's superstars of the musette accordion era: "all the songs here belong to the heyday of this under-appreciated instrument. Hard as it may be to believe, in Paris in the 1930's , there were more than 300 "bals musette", or accordion balls, in operation. Couples forgot their cares, dancing to sounds pumped out by the masters of the bellows with keys....".

This recording is a real pleasure to listen to and I believe there should be more CD's out like this.
