Unfortunately, there is no information in English about this recording (the cover and insert of the CD is written in Danish) featuring "Bornholms Musicshool's Accordion Orchestra with soloists of Chamber Music, conducted by Gregor Siegler". Shame really, as this is a superior recording in so many ways and we would only gain by having information in English as well.

This recording consists of music for the accordion orchestra as well as chamber music with accordion in different instrument combinations: violin + guitar + accordion; flute + accordion; flute + accordion + violin. Two pieces are arranged for the accordion orchestra and violin: Beethoven's Romance in G Major and Romance by J. Svendsen.

Not often, is such a program structure found. The programme includes classical and contemporary pieces as well as a couple of popular numbers. I was very impressed by the sound of Vaclav Trojan's music. The blend of accordion, guitar and violin is just great, very natural and creates such a warm tone color. This piece is performed splendidly and shows great musicianship between the players.

Although members of the orchestra are only children and teenagers, there is a sophisticated sound by the orchestra and great togetherness. They play with the refinement in expression and musical maturity.

This recording will bring you what its name implies: Great Joy!
