Welcome to the Florida Accordion Association.

Birthed in September 2000, the Florida Accordion Association is dedicated to the promotion of the accordion through all music genres and all variations of accordion instruments.

Having grown to over 350 plus members, they represent all types of accordion instruments including piano accordion, datonic, chromatic button accordion and bandoneon.

The FAA also encompasses all types of musical genres such as ethnic, jazz and classical to name a few, on all playing levels.

Some of our goals:

• Promote public interest in the accordion through public awareness.
  
  
• Hold meetings, workshops, conventions, concerts and other activities throughout the state of Florida.
  
  
• Act as a resource to provide referrals in accordion instruction, repair, sales and/or trade, sheet music, accessories, etc...
  
  
• Network with fellow associations throughout the United States, in an effort to provide unity within the accordion world.

Murl is an independent, modern accordionist, pianist, composer, teacher and recording artist who plays pop, rock, zydeco, country, jazz, blues and various ethnic styles on piano and accordion. He has worked with such diverse national and international artists as: Chuck Berry, Etta James, Merrilee Rush, Theodore Bikel, Peter Duchin, Leslie Gore, The Von Trapp Children, Lee Oskar, OhNo, Underground Resistance, Leroy Bell, Clare Fischer, Todd Simon, and composer David Matthews.

A graduate of the New England Conservatory of Music, where he was the first to major in accordion. At age 21, Cory's extensive resume includes 4 performances for President & Mrs. Clinton!

ALEX MEIXNER - Allentown, PA (left and right)
Grammy-nominated musician & producer to perform on both instruments! Alex Meixner’s performing career began at age 6 with his two sisters and father in an ethnic folk ensemble. From these early experiences through headline appearances at music festivals throughout the US; concert performances with the London Symphony Orchestra, Sandy Duncan and his own jazz and ethnic ensembles; as well as over 40 recordings, Meixner has developed a unique musical mix that appeals to a wide cross-section of audiences.

“Living Legend of the Accordion” to perform - watch him WOW the crowd, and don’t forget to bring your seatbelt! In addition to his performance, we are "roasting" Tony this year. Come out and witness THE LOVELLO ROAST. Tony is also doing us the honor of CONDUCTING THE ACCORDION ORCHESTRA, in which all attendees are welcome to participate!

General SMASH information:

Friday, November 13th: famous Café Accordeon, hosted by Alvaro “Beaver” Barsi, 4:30 – 2:00 a.m. in the hotels’ Front Street Café. Anyone may play. Food is available for purchase until 9 PM, beverages available for purchase until 2:00 a.m. Snacks provided. Accordion orchestra rehearsal (conducted by Tony Lovello) time TBA. Dealer displays are open.

Saturday, November 14th: registration desk & dealer displays open 8:30 a.m. Day includes professional accordion performances, lunch & dinner, accordion orchestra performance, THE TONY LOVELLO ROAST, the grand evening concert, and 50/50 raffles. After the close of the evening concert, we’ll congregate in the Front Street Café for jamming, and more accordion fun.

Lunch Buffet Saturday with accordion entertainment: Chef’s selection of two prepared salads; three deli meats, aged cheddar & baby Swiss cheeses; relish tray to include lettuce, tomato, onion, dill pickles, stone-ground mustard, tiger sauce & mayonnaise, assorted deli breads & rolls, an assortment of desserts, iced tea with lemon, coffee & decaf.

Dinner Buffet Saturday with accordion entertainment: Seasonal garden greens, tropical fruit salad, herb-roasted chicken, roast pork loin with port wine demi-glace, garlic-whipped potatoes, buttered golden corn, fresh seasonal vegetables, oven warm rolls with butter, chef’s dessert table, coffee & decaf, herbal teas with lemon.

Sunday, November 15th: 9:00 am: optional breakfast & accordion concert by Jerry Tramontozzi, dealer displays open before & after breakfast. Breakfast buffet: chilled Florida orange juice, fresh fruit salad, assorted cereals with whole & non-fat milk, fluffy scrambled eggs, pancakes with warm maple syrup, hickory smoked bacon, buttermilk biscuits and assorted muffins, whipped butter & fruit preserves, Columbian coffee and decaf, herbal teas with lemon.

The hotel has many amenities: a gorgeous outdoor, heated pool and tiki bar, gift shop, hair salon, business center, game room, Dollar Rent-a-Car on site, in-room microwaves, mini refrigerators, coffeemakers, and safes. Walking distance to many restaurants, shopping, and major attractions, 15 miles from the airport
