Final Performance Exam

Twelve bayanists sat their final performance exam at the Ukrainian National (formerly Tchaikovsky) University in Kiev on Friday June 8th. For this exam, each student presented a 25 minute programme of contrasting styles, including a polyphonic work and an original work for accordion. All the students were extremely nervous before the exam, but settled down when they had to perform.

The standard, obviously was very high.

The performance takes place in the Small Hall of the Conservatory and is attended by friends and contemporaries.

The names of the students were:
Valentina Yakushenko, Vitali Bondarenko, Tiana Vasich, Dermot Donne (from Ireland), Viacheslav Pershin, Mikitza Yevtic, Victor Zinchenko, Elena Costuk, Yevgen Novikov, Yevgen Trohimenko, Sergei Zuhai, Alexander Shoroshev.

Magazine writes about Accordions Worldwide

Popular Russian magazine "Narodnik " has published an article "Bayan and ... Internet" written by Mrs. Galina Fomochkina who also often contributes the items for our site. The author describes the advantages of Internet for those, who love accordion and want to communicate with other accordion enthusiasts and professionals. The two-page article is dedicated to Accordions Worldwide, including the East European News as a part of it. We are really thankful to Galina Fomochkina for this publication which helps, i believe, the Russian accordionists to get acquainted with Internet and with Accordions Worldwide, as the largest accordion resource.
