"Accordionomania"

Last week, the "Vilnus" Duo, which includes accordionists Eduardas Gabnys and Gennadiy Savkov (Lithuania) performed at the concert, organized in collaboration with St.Petersburg Musette Ensemble. Their program included popular classical music, as well as jazz, folk and entertaiment music. The duo played works by Franck, Peshkov, Derbenko e.t.c.

This concert was a part of series, organized by the St.Petersburg Musette Ensemble. Recently, Duo Zubitsky" (Ukraine / Italy) also performed in St.-Petersburg, playing a variety of works for accordion and piano.

The concert one again evidenced the growth of cultural ties between Lithuania and St.Petersburg; last month, Professor Ricardas Sviackevicius - another renowned accordionist from the Vilnus visited St.Petersburg, while the best teachers of St. Petersburg Conservatory Professor Alexander Dmitriev and Professor Oleg Sharov has been invited to attend some of the Lithuanian festivals.
