Friedrich Lips gives a recital in Moscow

On March, 18th, Professor Friedrich Lips will give a recital in the concert hall of Russian Gnessin Music Academy. His program will include works by A. Schnittke, A. Cholminov, S.Gubaidulina, E.Podgaiz, R.Ledenjov, T. Sergejewa.

New folk group album is released

A new album of Latvian folk group Maskackas spelmani is released and is available on CD and MC. The album calls "Zirnisiem skaisti ziedi" and contains Latvian folk music and dances. The group "Maskackas spelmani" consists of six performers (who play harmonica, bag-pipe, violin, drums and others) and is lead by Ansis Ataols Berzins. The musicians took part in various international competitions and festivals in Latvia, Lithuania, St. Petersburg and Belorussia.

"Duo Zubitsky" Baltic concerts

Vladimir and Natalia Zubitsky with world the famous violincellist Mstislav Rostropovitch Vladimir and Natalia Zubitsky will tour Latvia and Lithuania from March 14th to 24th. The concerts will be held on March 14th in Vilnius; the 15th in Klaipeda; 17th in Siauliai, Lithuania followed by performances in Latvia: March, 21st in Riga; the 20th in Liepas, and finishing off with in Limbazi, which are to be held from 22nd to 24th.

Vladimir Zubitsky is a renowned accordionist and composer, whose music has been performed all over the world. Together with Natalia Zubitsky (piano) he will present a varied program which will include the following works;

  • V.Zubitsky "Jazz-partita 2",
  • V. Zubitsky "From Fancelli to Galliano" (Fantasy on themes of L.Fancelli,W.Beltrami and R.Galliano),
  • V.Zubitsky "Valzer lirico", V.Zubitsky "Rossiniana " (Concert for accordion and orchestra),
  • V. Vlasov "Steps", D. Kramer, V. Tchernikov, V.Zubitsky "A violinist who performs and dances",
  • A.Piazzolla "Oblivion",
  • V. Zubitsky "Jazz-scherzo" (Fantasy on themes of L.Fancelli, R.Galliano,V.Vlasov),
  • V.Zubitsky- M.Moretti "Flumen",
  • V.Zubitsky - M.Moretti "I love you, Pesaro",
  • V.Zubitsky - M.Moretti "Carme iocundum",
  • V.Zubitsky "Omaggio ad Astor Piazzolla" Concert for accordion and orchestra

Charity concerts in Samara

In February, several charity concerts were held in the region of Samara, with the participation of Sergej Voitenko and Dmitriy Khramkov (the winner of the last World Championship). Other participants included the quartet "Non Stop" (lead by Sergej Voitenko) and the "Harmonica" ensemble (lead by Alla Katz, teacher of Sergej Voitenko and Dmitriy Khramkov).

The tickets were all sold out and the money was donated to the Children's Hospital Fund.

Alexander Dmitriev tours Austria

Professor Alexander Dmitriev will tour Austria from March, 16th to 20th. His program will include a variety of works by Boelmann, Vivaldi, Paganini, Liszt, Rebane, Dmitriev, Rossini and Strauss as well as folk and jazz music. Alexander Dmitriev will perform in Neunkirchen, on March 16th, in Vienna on 17th and 18th and in Carinthia on the 20th.

Alexander will also perform a recital at the International Accordion Festival in Vienna.

"Siberian Youth Trio" plays at the celebration of composer

A concert dedicated to the 50th Birthday of the composer Alexander Korchevoi was held on February, 10th in Omsk, Siberia in front of an audience of about 1000 people. Many soloists and ensembles, including both the Siberian Youth Trio and the State Choir of Omsk performed at the concert. The program consisted entirely of music composed by A.Korchevoi and was warmly received by the audience.
