Daily Event Report - Thursday 5th October
 
On October 5th 2006 the CMA Competitions began in Kragujevac, Serbia at 11am, held in the hall of the army barracks, along side the Kragujevac Music School.

The first class was the Classic Junior Category, first round, where the contestants played 2 movements from the Test Piece, Images of February, by Sergei Voitenko, followed by a melodic piece and a virtuoso piece.

Seven contestants from Serbia, Croatia, Poland, Spain & Russia took part. The Jury for the Junior Classic Category was:

Juan Carlo Carcamo (Spain), Nada Vjestica (Bosnia & Herzegovina), Frederic Deschamps (France), Anibal Freire (Portugal), Vojin Vasovic (Serbia), Stefano Pietrodarchi (Italy), Marian Kraijna (Croatia).

In the afternoon, the 1st round of the Senior Classic Category took place. Contestants played 3 movements of their choice from Autumn Pictures by Anatoli Kusiakov followed by a melodic piece and a virtuoso piece. Five contestants took part.

On the right, Raymond Bodell (UK) compiles the adjudicators marks as well as assists with material for these reports with Amber Masefield of New Zealand.
The Senior Classic Jury left to right were: Jacques Mornet (France), Radomir Tomic (Serbia), Marian Kraijna (Croatia), Ala Kac (Russia), Nada Vjestica (Bosnia & Herzegovina), Anibal Freire (Portugal), Stefano Pietrodarchi (Italy).
Competition Coordinator and organiser Milan Tomic had every contestant videoed, so they are able to purchase a copy of themselves competing.
The posters advertising the 56th Trophee Mondiale were spread around the town and at all of the venues. It featured a button accordion and a vacuum cleaner sucking up music.
In the evening at 20.30 hours, a concert was held at the Sala Gimnazije featuring players from the internationally famous Kragujevac Music School directed by brothers Radomir and Milan Tomic.
