General Information/Hotel Information | ||||||||
The Coupe Mondiale
is an International Competition for Accordion Soloists under the auspices
of the Confederation International des Accordeonistes (C.I.A.) founded
1935 in Paris. The CIA is a member of the International Music Council
(IMC-UNESCO). The headquarters
for the NAO hosted "CIA Coupe Mondiale World Accordion Championships"
will be the Cumberland Hotel in Central Harrow, London. All activities
take place at either the Cumberland Hotel, (www.cumberlandhotel.co.uk)
or in Halls close by, including the magnificent Church Hall, all adjacent
to the Cumberland Hotel in Central Harrow, London.

General Conditions and Prizes for All Categories | ||||||||
1. General: The International Competition for Accordion Soloists 2001 (Coupe Mondiale) is open for soloists of all nationalities and of either sex and will be offered for accordion soloists in five categories. (NB If the CIA receives an entry from a competitor representing a country which is a CIA member, that competitor must be sent or approved by that national member association.)

2. Entry Froms: Candidates are requested to fill in the official entry-form provided by the secretariat precisely (in blockletters or typewritten) and send along with a passport size photograph to: | ||||||||

3. Entry Fee:
Senior Divisions: US$60.00 - Entry Fee: Junior Divisions:
US$40.00 The entry form and the entry fee are one unit. The fee must be paid at the same time as the entry form is mailed. Only candidates of countries without compatible currency are allowed to pay the fee at arrival to the CIA Treasurer without any demand. Non-paying candidates are not allowed to compete. The entry fee of European-Union (EU) candidates are requested to pay Euro 55.00 (Juniors Euro 36.00) by banktransfer (Bankaccount - Bank Austria No. 662-024-900) only, or the fee from other countries must be remitted tot eh CIA secretariat in form of an international bank cheque payable in US Dollars, bankcosts of US $15.00 must be added. (Total, including bank costs Seniors US$75.00, Juniors US$55.00) | ||||||||
4. Acceptance of Rules/Regulations: A candidate's entry also implies acceptance of regulations, the system of judging and the jury's decision as being final. Entered candidates not arriving or competing without apology will be excluded from subsequent Coupe Mondiales. | ||||||||
5. Music Copies: (A) Each candidate must bring to the competition three (3) published copies of his or her Own Choice Music. (B) The copies of each piece are to be tied together in a single bundle, each copy clearly labeled with the name and country of the candidate and handed over to the competition office after arrival. | ||||||||
6. Instruments: There are no restrictions as to make size or type of accordions used by the candidates, but electronic attachments may not be employed. | ||||||||

8. Judging: Contestants are judged in all sections on overall musicianship, including technical proficiency and stylistic understanding of all music performed. THE DECISIONS OF THE JURY ARE FINAL. | ||||||||
9. Accommodation: Accommodation will be provided by the organizer, and is payable by the candidate. The costs will be reasonably priced. | ||||||||
10. Arrival and Departure: Information on arrival and departure will on-line at later date. | ||||||||
