The original piece contained lyrics by Ye Xuquan and Wang Yougui and was sung the by popular Shenzhen singer Liu Shaowen in the Guangdong Youth Song Competition. The song, highlighting China's reform and opening up, won the Central Television's second music TV contest Gold Medal, the Central Propaganda Department Project Award, the Golden Bell Award and others to become a national hit. |
