2018 China Harbin Summer International Accordion Art Week Contest Articles
To further promote the development of accordion career in China and select excellent international accordion players, "International Accordion Contest of the 34th China·Harbin Summer Concert International Accordion Art Week", hosted by Peoples Republic of China Culture Ministry and Harbin Municipal People's Government, undertaken by Harbin Normal College, to be held in Harbin, "the capital of music" on August 7th - 11th, 2018, and the aim is to select top international accordion players. At that time, the professionals and scholars from all countries in the world will gather in Harbin, coming to appreciate the essence of accordion art altogether.
I. Competition is offered to accordionists in any of the categories listed below:
1. Cat. Children Group:
（1）Children Group A (Born after September 1, 2006) Choose 1 or 2 melodies at random, which can be foreign or Chinese; the performance shall not be over 7 minutes
2. Cat. Juvenile Group：
（Born between September 1, 2003 and August 31, 2006）
（1）Juvenile Group A （Traditional Bass）
First Audition ：
1.（including two-voice） A polyphony above Bach two voices
2. Choose 1or 2 melodies at random (which can be foreign or Chinese).
Note：The performance shall not be over 8 minutes.
Second Audition :
Choose the compositions different from the first audition; a program at least consisting of two different style pieces with one technical piece,and the performance shall not be over 10 minutes.
（2）Juvenile Group B（Free Bass）
First Audition ：
1.（including two-voice）A polyphony above Bach two voices
2. Choose 1 or 2 melodies at random (which can be foreign or Chinese).
Note: The performance shall not be over 8 minutes.
Second Audition : Choose the compositions different from the first audition; a program at least consisting of two different style pieces with one technical piece,and the performance shall not be over 12 minutes.
3. Cat. Youth Group：
(Born before August 31, 2003 and after September 1, 2000, not including the students of attached schools of music or art colleges).
（1）Youth Group A （Traditional Bass）
First Audition ： Choose 1or 2 melodies at random (which can be foreign or Chinese).
Note：The performance shall not be over 10 minutes.
Second Audition : Choose the compositions different from the first audition; a program at least consisting of two different style pieces with one technical piece,and the performance shall not be over 15 minutes.
（2）Youth Group B （Free Bass）
First Audition ： 1.（including three-voice）A polyphony above Bach three voices
2. Choose 1or 2 melodies at random (which can be foreign or Chinese).
Note：The performance shall not be over 10 minutes.
Second Audition : Choose the compositions different from the first audition; a program at least consisting of two or three different style pieces with one technical piece, and the performance shall not be over 15 minutes.
4. Cat. Adult Group：
（Born before August 31, 2000）
（1）Adult Group A （Traditional Bass Group）：
Accordion teachers or lovers of normal colleges, art colleges, music education major of music colleges, art department or academy of comprehensive university, art gallery and the children's palace (not including the teachers and students of music performance major of music colleges)．
（Note:there is only one Audition in group A）
First Audition A: Choose the melody at random, and the performance shall not be over 15 minutes.
（2）Adult Group B（Free Bass Group）：
Accordion teachers or lovers of normal colleges, art colleges, music education major of music colleges, art department or
academy of comprehensive university, art gallery and the children's palace (not including the teachers and students of music performance major of music colleges)．
First Audition B: one Bach polyphonic works,one melody piece, and the performance shall not be over 10 minutes.
Second audition : Choose 2 or 3 melodies different from the one in the preliminary, the styles shall differ from each other, in one of which the technique shall be prominent, and the performance shall not be over 15 minutes.
5. Cat. Concert Soloists:
（Born before August 31, 2000）
First Audition：
1. A polyphony above Bach three-voice (including three-voice)
2. A emotional work
3. A technical work
Note：The performance shall not be over 20 minutes.
Second Audition：
1.One Scarlatti sonata
2. One big-scale work (sonata, variations, suite, etc.), choose other work at random or choose none (different from the first audition )
Note: the performance shall not be over 30 minutes.
6. Cat. Ensemble：
（Note: there is only 1round, and it is not allowed to have 5 accordions.）
（1）Ensemble Group A ： Group below 18 （Born after September 2000）
Choose the melody at random, and the performance shall not be over 15 minutes.
（2）Ensemble Group B ： Group above 18 （Born before August 31,2000）
Choose the melody at random, and the performance shall not be over 20 minutes.
7. Cat. Chamber Music：
（Note: There is only 1 round, unlimited by age, not more than 7 people ）
In the ensemble, the accordion is the chief instrument. Choose the melody at random, and the performance shall not exceed 20 minutes.
8. Cat. Light Music：
（1）Group below 18 （ Born after September 1, 2000）
First Audition : Choose the melody at random, the number unlimited, and the performance shall not exceed 8 minutes;
Second Audition : Choose the melody at random, the number unlimited, and the
performance shall not exceed 10 minutes.
（2）Group above 18 （Born before August 31, 2000）
First Audition : Choose the melody at random, the number unlimited, and the performance shall not exceed 10 minutes;
Second Audition : Choose the melody at random, the number unlimited, and the performance shall not exceed 12 minutes.
II. Award Arrangement and Premium
In each group, 4 awards including gold, silver, bronze and honorable mention are set up respectively, grant the trophy or the certificate. In the performer group, the premium of gold award is 1500 US dollars, silver award 1000 US dollars, bronze award 500 US dollars. And other category the first place award 1000RMB.

fill it and issue the form to: gjbs2016@126.com, then post the application form, two 2-inch photos and the copies of effective ID certificate (residence booklet, ID card and passport) to the Organization Committee Office of 2018 China·Harbin Summer International Accordion Art Week; the address is above.

V. Contest Points
1. The contest sequence is decided by the result of drawings of each group.
2. The competitors of each group shall perform with no score. If the melody does not conform to the demand of the article, the organization committee has the right to cancel the contest qualification.
3. If the contest melody exceeds the requisite time, the judge has the right to ask for the stop, which will not affect the contest marks. If the melody is too short (not reaching two thirds of stipulated time), the marks will be affected.
4. The contest marks of each group will be posted publicly after each round of contest to show justice.
5. The competitors entering the quarter-final will bring the preliminary marks into the quarter-final, the preliminary marks and the quarter-final marks accounting for 50% respectively.
6. The judges are composed of well-known scholars and professors domestic and abroad.
7. The awarded competitors shall be obliged to take part in the award ceremony and the concert of awarded competitors; otherwise they will lose the award qualification.
8. All competitors entering the Final will be awarded the certificate of honor.

Note: The competitor shall deliver a copy of the list of contest melodies at registration, including optional and requisite melodies. If the score is discovered damaged or missing page, the organization committee will not accept it.

11. The organization committee has the right to adjust the competitor's award installation according to the number of applicants and contest situations.
