'Accordion Renaissance'

Blues singer, Abby Burke, from Tennessee joined National Champion and Nashville recording artist, accordionist Jeff Lisenby, and World Champion accordionists "Skeets" Langley and Alexander Sevastien for “Accordion Renaissance” presented by the Accordionists and Teachers Guild, International to be held in Minneapolis, Minnesota August 13-16, 2009.

The ATG festival included informational and educational workshops, concerts, forums, displays, performances and competitions.

Workshops included topics and demonstrations by Drs. Helmi Harrington & Marion Jacobson, Dan Newton, MusikGarten, Orkestar Bez Ime with Dee Langley, Alexander Sevastian, Don McMahon, and Michele Boddicker Scheffler among others. James Touchi-Peters, Conductor Emeritus of the Minnesota Philharmonic Orchestra, was the guest conductor for the ATG Festival Orchestra.

The festival/convention concluded on Sunday with a sightseeing tour that included a special behind the scenes tour of the Science Museum of Minnesota, entrance to the Titanic Artifacts Exhibit and a Sunset Mississippi River Dinner Cruise.
